PE4400
Standard Racing Fuel Pump
PE4450 Combo Racing Fuel Pump
PE4550 Fuel Injection Pump
PE4600 2 Stage Racing Fuel Injection Pump
Bypass
valves on the Standard and the Combo Pumps are adjusted by loosening
the chrome locknut and turning the bypass outer shell. Adjusting
the valve down (clockwise) INCREASES pump pressure.
Adjusting the valve up (counter-clockwise) DECREASES
pump pressure and bypasses a greater amount of fuel to the fuel
cell/tank. Set pump pressure between 32 and 38 PSI.
The 2 Stage Racing Fuel Injection Pump has two bypass valves.
The valve on the first stage (with filter) is set at the factory
to a specific pressure and should not be re-adjusted.
The second stage bypass valve is adjustable in the same manner
as the Standard and Combo Pumps mentioned above. Set the pressure
to the amount required by your fuel injection system.
Fuel Injection Pump PE4550 is adjustable between 60 –
100 PSI. Metering jets are included with the pump. Use a smaller
jet size to increase pump pressure and a larger size to decrease
pressure and return more fuel through the bypass line.
Filter Maintenance: The Combo Pumps and Fuel Injection Pumps
included a fuel filter that has a cleanable element. Periodic
cleaning of the filter is essential for optimum
pump performance. Use aerosol solvents such as brake parts cleaner
or carburetor cleaner. Low pressure air can be used to dry the
element.
